Would your hub be open to designating one space as just yours? There may not be a room you can call your own, but one corner of a room? And you would be free to keep that corner as minimalist as you like, as long as he could bring clutter into the rest of the house. It might give you one restful space.
My family isn't as messy now that my kids are grown, but I do know how frustrating it is to not be able to declutter because each item is precious to someone. While I might have the energy for the decluttering itself, I don't have the energy for the negotiations that would come with it.
