We have a new duck apparently.  It just showed up in the pond yesterday.  Now we've been getting a variety of ducks (and sometimes geese) stop at our pond, mostly wood ducks and some ring-necked ducks on their migration track this last couple of weeks.  This duck is domestic though.  I'm fairly certain it can't fly more than 10 feet or so, like many domestic ducks and has the heftier size of a domestic duck.  He keeps trying to break into our little flock but Lead Duck is being an asshole about it, so New Duck basically floats about at a distance, quacking a lot.

It isn't that out there, upon some reflection, for us to get a stray domestic duck.  We have a creek that runs through our yard and there are several farms just a short distance upstream of us.  The creek's swollen and running fast thanks to the recent snow melt and the rain we got yesterday.

So...new duck.
