Nov. 8th, 2017 10:04 am So after my mother dropped that bombshell about adopting/fostering my niece, I have heard nothing since. When I tried to press my mother further on it, the only thing she'd say about it was, "Yeah I just hope they get there act together."
So this is where I have to wonder what's up. Is it my brother, messing up his life as is par for the course with him, or is it my mother manufacturing drama that doesn't actually exist which is par for the course with her? Who knows!
I have my interview on Monday for the job position. It's to be a library director for a small-medium sized public library. I have a lot of hesitation about this job, not least of which is the distance I'd have to commute and the fact that it will likely have wonky hours, but it is the first thing I saw in my region and I'm pleased to get an interview on my first try nonetheless. Even if the interview confirms that I don't want it, it would still be good to get some practice and I'm also interested learning a bit about how public libraries work. I'm not ruling out a closer public library and it would be good to learn what kind of questions they're ask. I guess I'm more curious than excited.
Amelia has taken to pitching some pretty impressive temper tantrums, complete with throwing herself on the floor. It's equal parts horrific and amusing really. She spent a good half and hour at the mall this weekend screaming and you could hear her echoing off into the distance. This was triggered by the bathroom soap being "wrong." This morning we had another when she asked for apple and cheese but I failed understand her request to "build it."
My husband and I have had some much needed talks. He took point in watching the kids a bit more this last weekend, giving me some more breathing time, which was wonderful. I'm toying with the idea of looking into prices for someone to help clean my house because something has to give. We probably can't afford it weekly or anything like that, but it might help to have someone help with spring cleaning.
