amycooperMy husband sent in a resume for a job last Thursday. It was a position outside of libraries (but still in academia) at a nearby institution that really excited him.
They contacted him Tuesday.
For those of you not in academia, this is an almost unheard of quick reply. The bureaucracy of academia does not move quickly. And they asked if they could talk to him that afternoon. He assumed they needed clarification on something but instead he had a phone interview. And HR called this morning asking if they could talk to him over the phone this afternoon.
I'm really hoping he gets this position. His current job is unpleasant and stressful and he'd really like to get a position outside of libraries at this point. What he has done pretty much all his career, however, really applies to this position very well. I've got my fingers crossed.
