 I'm still alive!

Life is just kinda marching on.  The semester started so all the kids are back on campus.  Finn started 3rd grade.  I can't believe he's turning 8 this week.  He was very nervous about starting with a new class but he's seems to like his teacher, he has a number of friends in his classroom, and this teacher has flexible seating which he LOVES.  He's been seeing a tutor twice a week for reading/spelling so hopefully he's hasn't slipped behind much over the summer.

Remember that kid that was giving him a hard time?  Finn came home the other day asking what a whore was because that kid said Hilary Clinton was one.  Lovely.

Amelia's doing great.  She loves daycare and has a ton of friends.  She starts soccer tonight.  She's pretty excited about it.

I'm still kind of struggling myself.  It is what it is, I guess.

I've always thought that was such a bizarre term to have applied to women, particularly by men. Whores wouldn't exist if it wasn't for them. And I can't imagine anyone thinks that Hilary Clinton is even promiscuous (much less an actual whore). A third grader using the term is even stranger.

Kids are like little sponges; if that kind of nonsense is being spewed by his parental units, you can bet your bippy the kid(s) will mirror it. One of my nephews is already well versed at dismissing any democratic candidate's ad as fake news; he's ten.

Yikes, that's one reprehensible kid his parents are raising. I'm sorry he's still in Finn's class. Hope something constructive comes out of it: early discussions of how to be a feminist Ally?
.
I love the thought of Amelia kicking a soccer ball. Kawabunga!

(((hugs))) It's so hard to take care of self when you're taking care of others first. :(

*sigh* That kind of nastiness being passed on generation after generation is surely what some believe is making America great again...
