I started yoga classes a few weeks back. I've been doing yoga at home for a while now, but recently found yin yoga classes nearby and I'm really enjoying them. They're very relaxing and centering, which is what I need right now. More meditative then athletic.
Finn just turned 8 yesterday! Hard to imagine he's already 8! We got him a fish tank. He had received a (goldfish) fish around Halloween last year. The local aquatics store was handing them out at a town sponsered trunk or treat event (yay.) and he's managed to keep it alive all year, so we got him a bigger tank and a few more fish. His original fish seems much happier now and Finn's really enjoying watching them. He spent some time last night and this morning just watching the shenanigans. The zebra danios are pretty zippy and the platies do a kind of hide and seek thing near the cave that I got for the tank. Plus his goldfish has another goldfish to play with or harass. It might be harassment. Not sure. But it's fun to watch.
Sadly Finn had a less than ideal animal encounter this morning. He grabbed a toy his cat Oscar is terrified of and decided to use it to "play" with him. Oscar flipped out and attacked so now Finn's legs are just shredded. It was a painful lesson to learn, but I don't think he'll do that again.
Amelia says she likes soccer, but spent most of her first practice hiding from the coach who, according to Amelia, has a voice that's "too loud."
I forgot to mention in my last post, I had a birthday party! My birthday was in February but I had the flu (for two weeks, really bad) and then we get getting snow storms and life picked up so I did absolutely nothing for my birthday this year. But my husband remembered that I always wanted my birthday in the summer as a kid, so he threw a party on my half-birthday in August. Totally surprised me! It was lovely. He's such a sweet guy.

Date: 2018-09-16 05:32 pm (UTC)Happy belated to Finn. Oh boy, that's a painful lesson to learn but a cat's gotta do what a cat's gotta do in the face of scary things.
The party seems like it was a nice surprise for you! What a great husband.
