It's been a while, but I remember the plot of Silas Marner a bit differently

 Amelia, bringing over a copy of Silas Marner, "Mommy, I'm going to read you a book!"

"Great, Amelia.  I would love to hear your story."

"Once upon a time there was a little dinosaur and a mommy dinosaur and a daddy dinosaur."

"That sounds like a wonderful dinosaur family, Amelia.  What did the dinosaur family do?"

"EAT PEOPLE!"
